This is Lilac! She's from the Freedom Planet games (there's two of them, yessir), which are 2D indie platformers and play just like Sonic games! The first one's more traditional & linear while its sequel has.... different paths, and someone who I can only describe as Undertale's Undyne as its final boss.
So why is she cool?
Simple! Her looks, voice, and personality. I even have the Sanshee plushie of her :D
It's actually gotten to a point where I even turned her own legs into a character of their own: Leglac! She's pretty much just Lilac's legs but with a little bow on her waist to make her stand out more. Then again, I shouldn't be the one hoarding all the Leglac fun. Guess you could consider this to be my version of Leglac, or rather, WFW!Leglac if we wanna go by Undertale terms.
I remember having this old dream, years ago before I even became WFW and back in my pre-Eclipse-forced DeviantArt days, there'd be a bunch of Freedom Planet NBM, right up there with the other fandoms who also detach characters from Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, Sonic, etc. I made so many drawings with the Freedom Planet cast and how they'd be in all sorts of pieces, but the main thing I drew was them as halfcuts, much like Tiramisu and Kitsunia! Halfcuts are my favorite type of detachment if you couldn't tell. Actually, Freedom Planet & NBM is how I made Leglac.
That dream is still around to some extent, but not as much as it used to. I've lost count of how many times I said Freedom Planet is perfect for NBM content, so many years have gone by where I would just draw the same pretty purple dragon over and over again, just to chop her up and let her body parts do whatever on their own. Hopefully it can be as mainstream as other fandoms with NBM stuff. That would be great...
Honestly, had it not been for Freedom Planet & Lilac, I don't think I'd be as interested in NBM as I am now.
Okay but what about the games?
I've only played the first one I've yet to have the sequel in my library and sit down to marathon it, then again I am doing other things too and just getting out of bed everyday, so... Freedom Planet 1 is neat and regardless of difficulty the experience is still pretty solid
Hey, ever since 2016? It's quite the simpery record! And y'know what? You and Sally can share the throne.
